Calculator The Texas Instruments TI-89 calculator is recommended for this course. If you happen to have another calculator that's okay, but I will use the TI-89 in class. You will be responsible for learning the procedures used in class.

Grading Your grade will be calculated based on scores you received on four major tests, homework or in-class quizzes over homework, and a cumulative final exam. Sixty percent of your final grade will be based on the major tests, fifteen percent will be based on homework and quizzes, and twenty-five percent will be based on the final exam.

Homework I may collect some homework problems. If I tell you in advance that I will collect homework problems, these assignments must be written legibly on one side of the paper only and written so that how you solved the problem is clear.

General Policies Late homework will not be accepted. Make-up quizzes will not be given. A make-up test will be given if and only if it is approved in advance. Only one make-up test will be allowed per student.

Attendance Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class and after the break. Students who have more than two unexcused or four total absences may be dropped from the class. If you are going to miss a class, please tell me in advance; otherwise, the absence will be unexcused.
