Ancestor/Descendant Chart Samples
These charts were made with the (LifeLines) program
ps-anc.
They were then converted from PostScript to
PDF for easier viewing on the web. For more info on the ps-anc program,
visit my ps-anc page.
To view PDFs you'll need the Adobe Acrobat Reader (or plug-in) which can be
downloaded for free from Adobe's
web site. If when using a browser plug-in you don't have
enough memory to view a file then choose to save it on your computer.
Then try to open it with the Acrobat Reader after quitting some applications.
PDF tips
- Robert's ancestors: PDF, PS,
GIF
This is a 4- page, 4 generation chart with an experimental
feature I've added to ps-anc. It includes the ancestors of half siblings.
The GIF version of this chart was made with MacGhostScript and
GraphicConverter using a copy/paste operation. MacGhostScript is a PostScript
viewing/printing program which has a Windows counterpart. A program similar
to GraphicConverter that runs under Windows is
IrfanView
(freeware).
- Nicholas Toadvine descendants, updated 30 Jan 2001,
region: lower Delmarva
This two page chart shows 5 generationas of descendants of the first Toadvine
in America.
- Ancestors of Elijah Toadvine, updated 11 Mar 2000.
This chart employs a new feature to mark duplicate individuals with dashed
lines.
- Ancestors of Edith Snyder, updated 16 Jul 1998, region: Western PA
Hunting for ancestors without visiting their county of residence is tough. This
chart shows where we're stuck in finding more ancestors.
- Ancestors of Wayne Mouritzen,
updated 1 Nov 1998, region: Europe
My only hope at finding more ancestors here
is to get lucky in finding someone with a lot of information on these families
when they were still in Europe. [The & followed by uuml; displays the u
with two dots above in .html files.]
- Ancestors of Clarence Sydney Horner,
updated 18 Mar 1999, region: lower Delmarva
Another individual we're having trouble finding ancestors for. We think the
Roys came from Eastern PA or NY. This chart has a half-sibling indicated
as a branch not between a husband and wife.
The conversion from PostScript to PDF was performed with
Adobe's PostScript-to-PDF converter for Unix. I've
also been able to do this with GhostScript 5.50.
Viewing the original PostScript is as simple as
installing GhostScript/GhostView.
See my readers page for more PostScript &
PDF viewing info.
