The Joys of Learning ARC-INFO

I have been using ARC-INFO for a year now with another 4 years of SPANS experience under my belt before that. ARC-INFO is a very powerful tool; but I am certain that even ESRI would admit there is a significant learning curve involved in getting to grips with the system.

I learned the system by trying to do the things I knew I could do in SPANS (probably not the brightest idea in the world) and working my way through the manuals ( there are a lot of them ). I was such a newbie that I wasn't even aware of what a 'coverage' meant, never mind having the wit to access the on-line help system ( type helpmenu at the arc prompt if you are similarly witless) , so it took me quite a while to get anywhere useful. I am currently by no means an AI illuminati - but I can now actually carry out the spatial analysis I wanted to do in the first place. I suspect that there are a few people out there in a similar predicament . So I designed this course.

Try it and if you like it e-mail me, if you don't like it or have any advice about changes I would also like to hear from you . All reasoned criticism will be accepted (grudgingly).
