Where to eat in the NC mountains
Living near the border with NC, we have many times ventured into NC. We
have a tendancy to cruise the towns along US 64, just north of the SC border
between Hendersonville and Highlands and
we like to keep track of good places to eat, so...
- "BBQ place in Cashiers"
- We can't remember the name even though we've been there about 6 times,
but it's not because of the experience. Good food, including cornbread and soupat a small food-bar. But, in the summer, they have Appalachian music outside.
- Casey Jones
- Located about 1 mile west of downtown Brevard on US 64.
Specializing in pizza, subs, pasta, and other italizn standards, this place
makes a nice hang-out for dinner.
- Binion's Roadhouse Bar & Grill
- Located in Hendersonville on US 64 near the I-26 interchange, this place
is great. If you have to wait for a seat, you can snack on roasted peanuts
and toss the shells on the floor. At your table, there is a small container
of roasted peanuts again. Dinner salads are of a good size, with more than
just lettuce. Two people can eat there for around $24.
