{"id":4,"date":"2016-07-08T20:49:10","date_gmt":"2016-07-09T00:49:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.math.clemson.edu\/numbertheory\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2025-09-10T14:04:49","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T18:04:49","slug":"faculty","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.math.clemson.edu\/numbertheory\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">There are currently three faculty that specialize in number theory at Clemson, with several affiliated faculty.\u00a0 Clemson offers several basic number theory courses so that graduate students leave Clemson with an overview of the entire subject. <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">There is an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.math.clemson.edu\/adm-seminar\/\">ADM seminar <\/a><\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">run by the Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, and Number theory <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">group as well as an algebraic geometry and number theory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.math.clemson.edu\/agnt\/\">(AGNT) seminar<\/a>. <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Graduate students are funded to attend the <a href=\"https:\/\/people.math.sc.edu\/boylan\/seminars\/pantshome.html\">Palmetto Number Theory Series (PANTS)<\/a>, a <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">conference held two times a year featuring talks by prominent number <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">theorists from across the country. Once students have begun their research they are encouraged <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">to give contributed talks at these meetings. <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/huixue.people.clemson.edu\/SERMON.html\">Southeast Regional Meeting on Numbers (SERMON)<\/a> is also held once a year with faculty and graduate <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">students from Clemson playing a prominent role. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #522d80;\">Students with an interest in number theory should e-mail or stop by and speak with Robert Dicks, Daniel Martin or Hui Xue.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are currently three faculty that specialize in number theory at Clemson, with several affiliated faculty.\u00a0 Clemson offers several basic number theory courses so that graduate students leave Clemson with an overview of the entire subject.
