Blockchain is Driving a Security and Privacy Revolution
Almost 30 years ago, a few revolutionary thinkers calling themselves Cypherpunks described a vision of a world of pervasive encryption and privacy for all. This supposed revolution came off in fits and starts at best, until Blockchain was born. Now suddenly we are seeing dozens of new startup companies blowing the dust off of twenty-year-old encryption technologies and academic theories that were never implemented; and new techniques are being invented at a faster pace than the cryptographic community has ever seen. Why is Blockchain driving this long-dormant cryptographic revolution? We’ll explore this topic and the short- and long-term implications for our world.
