Blockchain’s Ongoing Global Market Disruption

A little over eleven years ago the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto published his famous Bitcoin paper, apparently envisioning a world set free of fiat currencies and government control of markets. However, the real revolution that he set off may turn out to be much less about cryptocurrency than about enabling traditional businesses to reinvent themselves. In this talk, we’ll examine how Blockchain is disrupting different Industry verticals. We’ll discuss the digital enablement of Supply Chains and Global Shipping, improving the sustainability of food safety while minimizing waste and how Blockchain is being used in Healthcare to address the thousands of deaths and preventable injuries each year that result from poor coordination and communication. These current disruptions give us a glimpse at the ultimate power of Blockchain to address coordination problems that plague many spheres of human endeavor, and hint at the long term global effect of this revolutionary technology.
